Erik is the Founder or ERG Strategies, LLC, a specialized boutique consultancy
committed to empowering state and tribal governments with valuable insights into the
complexities of cannabis legalization. Erik’s mission is to foster the development of
equitable, viable, and safe cannabis and hemp markets on a global scale.
Prior to establishing ERG Strategies, Erik served as the Executive Director of Maine’s
Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP). In this role, he spearheaded the creation and
administration of the state agency responsible for overseeing Maine’s medical and
adult-use cannabis programs. Under Erik’s leadership, Maine’s adult-use cannabis
program successfully launched in the fall of 2020.
Before assuming his role at Maine’s OCP, Erik served as a Senior Policy Advisor to two
Speakers of the Maine House. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role as the chief
liaison to the Legislature’s Cannabis Legalization Implementation Committee, which
was instrumental in shaping the regulatory framework for Maine’s adult-use cannabis
industry.”
